S (Chisel Representation Employing Systematic Specification) is used for graphical behaviour description, underpinned by formal and implementation languages. Plug-in frameworks adapt it for particular application domains such as Intelligent Networks, Internet Telephony and Interactive Voice Response. The CRESS notation and its syntax are explained. The semantics of CRESS is discussed with reference to its interpretation in LOTOS.en_UK
