dc.description.abstract | This paper presents the findings of a Scotecon-funded project on older workers in the Scottish labour market. The paper outlines some of the key literature and makes recommendations for future research and policymaking. Following this introductory section the paper specifically considers: demographic change in the Scottish population; the characteristics of older workers; work experiences among older workers; social legislation and policies aimed at older workers; and finally areas for future research and policy making. The specific focus is on the Scottish case but the situation in the UK, EU and other industrialised countries is also discussed. | en_UK |
