dc.description.abstract | Allozyme data from 44 different loci were collected for 15 species from three genera in the tribe Tilapüni. Dendrograms constructed by using both genetic distance and binary coded presence or absence of alleles show that the substrate spawning Tilupiu are consistently separated from the two mouthbrooding genera Surorherodon and Oreochromis. The implications of these findings for the taxonomy of the group and minor rearrangement within the Oreochromis are discussed. | en_UK |
