First paragraph: Judgment debtors often use jurisdictional objections as a strategic debt-evasion tool when judgment creditors seek the recognition and enforcement of foreign judgments in Nigeria. Typically, such jurisdictional objections are raised when the respondent attempts to set aside the registration of a foreign judgment in a High Court. This was repeated in Access Bank plc v Akingbola when the judgment creditor sought the enforcement of an English judgment in Nigeria.en_UK
