Abstract: First paragraph: The aim of this study was to explore possible relationships between elite sporting success and aspects of Scottish culture, values and motivations. The study was commissioned by The Scottish Institute of Sport Foundation and undertaken by a research team from the Department of Sports Studies, University of Stirling. The recommendations arising from the study are those of The Foundation.
