dc.description.abstractFirst paragraph: Le projet d’une histoire littéraire et culturelle de Cayenne, qui comprendrait donc les représentations textuelles de la ville, est semé de difficultés. D’abord, la dimension originaire de ‘l’île de Cayenne’, et l’aspect macrocéphalique d’une ville qui domine depuis longtemps la démographie de la colonie - et après 1946 du département - font qu’il est souvent difficile de cerner une spécificité cayennaise à l’intérieur des questions identitaires guyanaises en général. Et cependant ce travail est essentiel si l’on va considérer le cas de Cayenne à la lumière de ces autres espaces urbains, tels la Nouvelle-Orléans, qui sont des creusets identitaires aussi bien que des relais d’un tissu de relations culturelles dans le pourtour atlantique, qu’il soit français ou autre.en_UK
