Abstract: | What is the role of foreign language teaching at schools? Should there be different classes to cater for students' diverse proficiency levels and previous experiences? If so, would it be possible to use literary texts in English with secondary-school students? How could this work be conducted in the classroom? Here we present a stylistics proposal for the teaching of English language at the public school run by the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. |
