Abstract: First paragraph: Ce chapitre s'int&eacute;resse &agrave; la conservation et au bien-&ecirc;tre des singes hominid&eacute;s et des gibbons. Il examine leur r&eacute;partition et les conditions environnementales dans lesquelles ils vivent en Afrique et en Asie. Ces informations proviennent de diverses sources, notamment du Portail A.P.E.S. (http://apesportal.eva.mpg.de), et peuvent servir aux d&eacute;cideurs et aux parties prenantes pour mettre en place des politiques &eacute;clair&eacute;es et une planification efficace. M&ecirc;me si certaines parties du rapport font r&eacute;f&eacute;rence &agrave; des taxons pr&eacute;cis de singes hominid&eacute;s et de gibbons, les discussions s'orientent vers des questions qui touchent g&eacute;n&eacute;ralement tous les grands singes et ne se limitent pas n&eacute;cessairement &agrave; certaines esp&egrave;ces. &Eacute;tant donn&eacute; que la qualit&eacute; des donn&eacute;es et leur disponibilit&eacute; varient en fonction des taxons, des r&eacute;gions, voire m&ecirc;me des pays, nous n'abordons que les cas disposant de donn&eacute;es fiables. Le pr&eacute;sent chapitre ne couvre que partiellement les gibbons, les donn&eacute;es recueillies sur cette famille &eacute;tant toujours insuffisantes. Cependant, des &eacute;tudes suppl&eacute;mentaires seront men&eacute;es d'ici la prochaine &eacute;dition de La plan&egrave;te des grands singes pour veiller &agrave; ce que les gibbons soient bien repr&eacute;sent&eacute;s &agrave; l'avenir.
