Abstract: First paragraph: L 'étude historique de l'intensité compétitive intra-match de la Coupe du monde de la FIFA montre un lien marqué avec le format adopté. Celui-ci doit également répondre à des exigences particulières pour permettre une compétition crédible. Au final, l'organisateur d'événement sportif met en oeuvre un design de compromis entre différentes contraintes.
